Mimecast vs Palisade in 2026

How Mimecast and Palisade compare on operating model, pricing, and fit for IT teams and MSPs.

Our verdict: Pick Palisade if you want an AI agent to carry the work through enforcement, whether you manage one domain or thousands. Pick Mimecast if your team prefers a traditional, operator-led workflow.

How enforcement actually happens

Mimecast DMARC Analyzer is built around visibility and guidance. Its product page describes a DMARC record setup wizard, self-service tools, in-app summaries, filters, and a recommendation engine, with aggregate, forensic, and TLS reports for tracking sending sources. Reaching p=reject is framed as a project: Mimecast offers an active DMARC monitoring service in which its experts guide your team from setup to full enforcement. The January 2026 DMARC Analyzer 2.0 release added domain groups, TLS reporting, and a timeline view.

Palisade does that project instead of walking you through it. Its AI agent identifies legitimate senders from report data, configures SPF and DKIM, and progressively tightens the DMARC policy to p=reject, with your team approving each change. For an MSP the practical difference is who does the per-domain work: with Mimecast, your technicians read recommendations and apply changes, or you buy managed services; with Palisade, the agent carries each domain toward enforcement and your team reviews and approves.

Quote-gated contracts versus a public price list

Mimecast publishes no prices for DMARC Analyzer. The product page and the 14-day trial page both route buyers to a quote, and contracts are negotiated through Mimecast sales or its partner program. The one public data point is Mimecast's UK G-Cloud listing at £8,125 per unit, which does not define what a unit covers. Report retention and email volume terms are not published either, so an MSP cannot model per-client cost from public information (checked 2026-07-18).

Palisade publishes its self-serve IT-team pricing: a Free plan for one domain and up to 1,000 emails/month, flat monthly plans sized by email volume from $19/month (20% off on annual billing) with every organization domain included, unlimited report retention on paid plans and API access on every plan, and a 15-day full-product trial. MSPs receive a free NFR domain and quoted, portfolio-based per-client-domain pricing with no client email metering.

Who Mimecast genuinely serves

Mimecast DMARC Analyzer is one product inside a broad email security platform. It fits organizations that already run Mimecast's gateway and want DMARC visibility, TLS reporting, and SPF Delegation from the vendor that already holds their mail flow, purchased through the same contract and account team. The G-Cloud listing cites support for unlimited users, domains, and domain groups, and a managed service option supplies deployment expertise for teams that want consultants running the rollout.

For an MSP selling DMARC as a standalone service, the model gets harder. There is no published per-domain rate to price margin against, no advertised HaloPSA or Autotask integration, and the ConnectWise Manage middleware Mimecast documents serves its email security platform rather than a DMARC workflow. The guided approach also means technician hours per domain. Mimecast fits a team already standardized on its platform that is protecting a modest number of enterprise domains with consultant support.

Pricing

Mimecast pricing explained (and how Palisade compares)

Mimecast does not publish pricing for DMARC Analyzer; buyers get a quote through Mimecast sales or its partner program. The only public price signal is a UK G-Cloud listing at £8,125 per unit, alongside a 14-day free trial.

Mimecast planPublished priceWhat you get

  • Mimecast publishes no DMARC Analyzer prices; the product and trial pages route buyers to 'Get a Quote' (checked 2026-07-18).
  • Mimecast's UK G-Cloud listing shows £8,125 per unit; the listing does not define what a unit covers or the billing period.
  • Mimecast does not publish plan tiers for DMARC Analyzer; its UK G-Cloud listing describes four implementation options (self-implemented and managed variants). The two rows above summarize the self-service and managed paths.
  • A 14-day free trial is advertised; the G-Cloud listing describes managed proof-of-concept accounts that typically run 30 days.
  • Mimecast does not publish report-retention or email-volume limits for DMARC Analyzer (checked 2026-07-18).

How Palisade prices instead

  • Palisade publishes its self-serve IT-team pricing: flat monthly plans sized by email volume from $19/month (20% off on annual billing) with every organization domain included, plus portfolio-based per-client-domain pricing for MSPs; Mimecast quotes DMARC Analyzer through sales and partners.
  • Palisade's AI agent does the enforcement work (identifies legitimate senders, configures SPF/DKIM, progressively tightens policy to p=reject on your approval); Mimecast's product guides your team with a wizard and recommendation engine, with consultants available as a paid managed service.
  • Palisade includes API access on every plan, including Free; Mimecast does not publish which DMARC Analyzer plans or customers get API access.
  • Palisade ships native ConnectWise, HaloPSA and Autotask integrations with client-domain import; Mimecast documents ConnectWise Manage middleware for its wider email security platform and does not advertise HaloPSA or Autotask support.

The decision

Which one is right for you?

Pick Mimecast if…

  • You prefer a more traditional Mimecast workflow with people involved in each enforcement step.
  • Your buying criteria center on vendor-specific enterprise requirements.
  • Pick Mimecast if your clients already run Mimecast's email security gateway and you want DMARC reporting, TLS reports, and SPF Delegation inside that same vendor relationship and contract.
  • Pick Mimecast if you are rolling out DMARC on a small number of enterprise domains and want the option of Mimecast's consultants running the project as a managed service.

Pick Palisade if…

  • You run an MSP, or an internal IT or security team, responsible for multiple domains.
  • You want an AI agent to investigate issues, configure authentication, and move domains toward p=reject.
  • Teams already using Claude, OpenAI, or other AI tools can bring the same agent-led operating model to DMARC.

Migration

Switching from Mimecast takes three steps

1

Batch-import your domains

Bring your client domains into Palisade in bulk, or let your ConnectWise, HaloPSA, or Autotask integration sync them automatically.

2

Run both platforms in parallel

DMARC reporting supports multiple recipients, so Palisade and Mimecast receive the same reports during the overlap window. Nothing breaks while you compare.

3

Cut DNS over on your schedule

Point records at Palisade's hosted infrastructure (redundant managed DNS), then retire the old setup when you're satisfied.
