What data flows between Palisade and ConnectWise PSA?

ConnectWise PSA supplies client and configuration data. Palisade sends task updates and billing quantities through the mappings you configure.

How are ConnectWise companies and domains mapped?

ConnectWise companies map to groups inside your Palisade MSP account. The group keeps the client’s domains together and determines which ConnectWise company receives their tickets.

Palisade discovers domains from company contacts’ email addresses. Give the API member access to Contacts as well as Companies; a successful connection alone does not establish that contact data can be read. Review the imported domains for each client and add missing domains in Palisade.

Client mappings are managed through Palisade groups. Keep the mapping aligned with the client whose domains your team manages.

How do ConnectWise PSA tickets and statuses stay connected?

Choose the ConnectWise service board, then map Palisade’s Open, Pending, Done, Snoozed, Canceled and Dismissed statuses to that board’s statuses. Map priorities and select the ticket type and subtype your technicians use.

Palisade sends new DMARC tasks and subsequent task status updates to ConnectWise. Each task stays linked to its client through the group mapping. If you change the service board, remap its statuses; existing tickets remain on their original board.

Choose which Palisade task types create new ConnectWise PSA tickets. Disabling a type stops new tickets for that type; existing tickets keep receiving updates. Re-enabling a type does not backfill tasks raised while it was disabled. Read the ticket-control rules.

The DMARC agent investigates issues and prepares fixes. Your technician reviews and approves DNS or policy changes; a PSA ticket is the place to track the work.

How does ConnectWise agreement billing sync work?

Select a ConnectWise catalog item for your Palisade service and map each client to an active agreement. Palisade uses an agreement addition for that item and synchronizes its quantity with the client group’s billable domain count.

For example, if a mapped group goes from five billable domains to seven, the synchronized quantity becomes seven. This is a quantity update; your ConnectWise agreement controls the commercial terms and invoicing. Importing a domain for an audit is separate from activating its paid service.

Billing sync can be paused independently of task synchronization. Check the agreement addition and Palisade integration logs after a billable domain change before relying on the quantity for an invoice.

Which Palisade plans support ConnectWise PSA?

The ConnectWise PSA connector requires a Palisade MSP account. MSPs pay per client domain, with a rate that improves as your portfolio grows. Your own MSP domain is included as a free Not-For-Resale license.

Standard Free and IT-team accounts need MSP enrollment to use PSA integrations. Explore the MSP program or see how MSP pricing works.

What is required to set up ConnectWise PSA?

Use a ConnectWise PSA API identity with access to the clients and workflow you want to connect. Keep credentials in your team’s credential manager and enter them only in the integration’s credential form.

Required ConnectWise PSA access
AreaRequired access
Service DeskAdd, edit and view tickets; view boards and the status, priority and type options used by your mappings.
Companies and ContactsRead companies and Inquire access to Contacts under Companies. Contact email addresses supply domain discovery.
FinanceAdd, edit and view agreements for the billing workflow.

  1. 1. Create a ConnectWise API member

In System > Members, select or create the API member and grant the required permissions. Generate a public/private key pair under API Keys. Keep the private key in your credential manager.

  2. 2. Connect your regional instance

In Palisade Integrations, select ConnectWise and enter the regional API URL, Company ID, Public Key and Private Key. The setup guide lists the North America, Europe and Australia API URLs.

  3. 3. Map the service board and clients

Select the service board, statuses, priorities, type and subtype. Import the companies you want to manage and review each company-to-group mapping and discovered domain.

  4. 4. Configure agreement quantities

Choose the catalog item and each client’s agreement. Enable billing sync when the mappings are ready, then verify a ticket and a billable-domain quantity change with a test client.

What should you verify before rolling out to clients?

Start with a test client in ConnectWise PSA and confirm the mapping, ticket and billing results your team will rely on.

  • The API member can read both the company and its contacts, and expected client domains appear in the mapped Palisade group.
  • A Palisade task creates a ticket on the selected board for the correct company; a later Palisade status change reaches that ticket.
  • The chosen agreement addition reflects the mapped group’s billable domain quantity, and the integration logs show a successful update.

ConnectWise PSA integration FAQ

Does Palisade integrate with ConnectWise PSA or ConnectWise Manage?

Palisade integrates with ConnectWise PSA, also known as ConnectWise Manage, for MSP accounts. The connector supports client domain import, DMARC task tickets, mapped status updates and agreement-addition quantities.

Which Palisade plan supports ConnectWise PSA?

The ConnectWise PSA integration requires a Palisade MSP account. Enroll in the MSP program to use it; a standard Free or IT-team account does not by itself enable the PSA connector.

Why does ConnectWise connect successfully but import no domains?

ConnectWise domain discovery reads company contacts’ email addresses. Check the API member’s Contacts permissions, the client mapping and the available contact emails. A company connection can succeed while contact reads are unavailable.

Does ConnectWise billing sync create an invoice?

Palisade synchronizes the billable domain quantity on the selected ConnectWise agreement addition. ConnectWise agreement pricing and invoicing remain in your existing billing workflow.
