| Unlimited report retentionBarracuda does not publish report retention terms (checked 2026-07-18). | ||
| API access on every planPalisade includes API access on every plan, including Free; Barracuda describes an "API-based architecture" (its connection to Microsoft 365) but does not advertise customer-facing API access for Domain Fraud Protection (checked 2026-07-18). | ||

Enforcement is a button you click, then DNS you edit
Barracuda's own documentation lays out a three-step path. Every domain starts in reporting mode, where problems are surfaced but nothing is blocked. Your team then works through the email sources the system identifies and approves the legitimate ones before enforcement unlocks. Once enough traffic has passed, an Enforce DMARC button appears; an admin clicks it, copies the generated DNS record, pastes it into the client's domain provider, and clicks Check DMARC Record to verify. That sequence repeats for every domain you manage.
Palisade turns that loop into a review. Its AI agent identifies legitimate senders from report data, configures SPF and DKIM for them, and progressively tightens policy until the domain reaches p=reject, with your team approving each change. There is no per-domain checklist waiting on an engineer to classify sources or paste records, which is the practical difference between monitoring DMARC and doing the work. For an MSP, each new client domain becomes onboarding the platform performs rather than work your technicians schedule.
Quote-gated bundles versus published pricing
Barracuda does not publish a standalone price for Domain Fraud Protection on barracuda.com; the only public figure is a $1.20 per-month AWS Marketplace line item whose unit of measure the listing does not state. It ships inside all three Email Protection bundles (Advanced, Premium, Premium Plus), and the plans page routes buyers to a Build and Price quote instead of publishing numbers. Its MSP program describes pricing as "monthly, per account, usage-based" without public rates. Barracuda also does not publish email volume, report retention, or API terms for Domain Fraud Protection (checked 2026-07-18), so those limits surface during the sales process.
Palisade publishes its self-serve IT-team pricing: a Free plan for one domain and up to 1,000 emails/month, flat monthly plans sized by email volume from $19/month (20% off on annual billing) with every organization domain included, unlimited report retention on paid plans and API access on every plan, and a 15-day full-product trial. MSPs receive a free NFR domain and quoted, portfolio-based per-client-domain pricing with no client email metering.
Where Barracuda fits, and where it stops scaling
Barracuda's product is an email security suite. Domain Fraud Protection exists so a customer buying gateway filtering, impersonation protection, Microsoft 365 backup, and archiving also gets DMARC reporting in the same console, with a setup wizard aimed at Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace tenants. That shape suits an IT team securing its own tenant. It is not a DMARC operations platform: enforcement stays a per-domain manual sequence, and pricing follows bundle seats rather than domains.
For an MSP selling DMARC as a service across dozens or hundreds of client domains, per-user bundle quotes make margin hard to model, and the click, copy, and paste enforcement path turns into technician time on every domain. BarracudaONE's PSA integrations automate billing and invoicing, not client-domain onboarding. Barracuda fits an MSP already standardized on Barracuda Email Protection whose clients need DMARC visibility on a few domains as part of that bundle.
Barracuda pricing explained (and how Palisade compares)
Barracuda sells Domain Fraud Protection as a component of its Email Protection bundles (Advanced, Premium, and Premium Plus), not as a standalone DMARC product. Pricing is quote-based through its Build and Price configurator, and no per-user or per-domain rates are published on barracuda.com (checked 2026-07-18).
| Barracuda plan | Published price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Email Protection Advanced | Custom - contact sales | Domain Fraud Protection with DMARC reporting plus pre- and post-delivery email threat protection; quoted through Barracuda's Build and Price configurator |
| Email Protection Premium | Custom - contact sales | Everything in Advanced plus unlimited Microsoft 365 backup and file scanning for PII and malware |
| Email Protection Premium Plus | Custom - contact sales | Everything in Premium plus cloud archiving and security awareness training with attack simulation |
| AWS Marketplace listing (1-month) | $1.20/mo per contract unit (unit of measure not stated on the listing) | A Domain Fraud Protection line item under Email Protection; the listing does not state the unit of measure (checked 2026-07-18) |
- Domain Fraud Protection has no standalone public price on barracuda.com; the site routes buyers to a Build and Price quote configurator (checked 2026-07-18).
- It is included in all three Email Protection bundles (Advanced, Premium, Premium Plus), so buying DMARC tooling means buying a per-user email security bundle.
- Barracuda's MSP program bills monthly per account based on usage; it does not publish per-user or per-domain rates (checked 2026-07-18).
- AWS Marketplace lists a $1.20 one-month Domain Fraud Protection subscription; the unit of measure is not stated on the listing.
- Email Protection offers a 14-day free trial; Barracuda does not advertise a standalone Domain Fraud Protection trial (checked 2026-07-18).
Barracuda pricing read from their public pricing page on 2026-07-18. Plans and prices may have changed since.
How Palisade prices instead
- Palisade sells DMARC enforcement as its own product with published self-serve IT-team pricing: flat monthly plans sized by email volume from $19/month (20% off on annual billing) with every organization domain included. MSP pricing is quoted per client domain based on portfolio size; Barracuda places Domain Fraud Protection inside quote-priced Email Protection bundles.
- Palisade's AI agent does the enforcement work: it identifies legitimate senders, configures SPF and DKIM, and progressively tightens policy to p=reject with your approval at each step; Barracuda's documented workflow has your team classify sources, click Enforce DMARC, and paste records into each client's DNS.
- Palisade hosts DMARC, SPF, and MTA-STS records with SPF flattening on redundant managed DNS; Barracuda's docs point admins to their own domain provider and do not advertise hosted records (checked 2026-07-18).
- Palisade includes unlimited report retention on paid plans and API access on every plan; Barracuda does not publish volume, retention, or API terms for Domain Fraud Protection (checked 2026-07-18).

Which one is right for you?
Pick Barracuda if…
- You prefer a more traditional Barracuda workflow with people involved in each enforcement step.
- Your buying criteria center on vendor-specific enterprise requirements.
- Pick Barracuda if your clients already run Barracuda Email Protection and you want DMARC reporting inside that same per-user bundle rather than a separate platform.
- Pick Barracuda if you manage DMARC for a small number of domains and your team is fine running the source-approval and DNS-update steps itself.
Pick Palisade if…
- You run an MSP, or an internal IT or security team, responsible for multiple domains.
- You want an AI agent to investigate issues, configure authentication, and move domains toward p=reject.
- Teams already using Claude, OpenAI, or other AI tools can bring the same agent-led operating model to DMARC.

Switching from Barracuda takes three steps
Batch-import your domains
Bring your client domains into Palisade in bulk, or let your ConnectWise, HaloPSA, or Autotask integration sync them automatically.
Run both platforms in parallel
DMARC reporting supports multiple recipients, so Palisade and Barracuda receive the same reports during the overlap window. Nothing breaks while you compare.
Cut DNS over on your schedule
Point records at Palisade's hosted infrastructure (redundant managed DNS), then retire the old setup when you're satisfied.
